Cataract Surgery With Small Pupils: Malyugin Ring Revisited

In my August 12 post, I discussed the Malyugin ring and its effectiveness in treating cataractswith small pupils in patients on Flomax.  I find this innovative instrument to be critical in treating these difficult cases.

The following video does an excellent job explaining and showing its uses.

Patients should be aware that this video shows actual cataract surgery.

As I stated previously, I am a firm believer of removing cataracts from patients prior to their going on Flomax, this would certainly decrease the incidence of side effects in these difficult cases.
